The following clip from Fox Searchlight’s Ready or Not has been teased in the film’s trailers, although slightly out of context.
Here, we learn that new initiates into the family must use a special box that will randomly select a game for them to play. The family jokes about previous games – from Chess to Old Maid – as Samara Weaving‘s character slides her fate out of the wooden box. The reaction of the room is not what one would have expected. Mark O’Brien‘s character (who is marrying Weaving) turns white and looks horrified. “Are we really going to play this?” she asks. While the clip ends there, it’s pretty clear that this was a very, very bad card to be given.
