Joining the previously announced Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero and Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, we’ve learned via THR tonight that Mehcad Brooks (“Supergirl”), Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the Killer) and newcomer Sisi Stringer have also signed on to play iconic fighters from the video game franchise in the upcoming James Wan-produced Mortal Kombat feature film.
Brooks is Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs, Stringer is Mileena and Asano is Raiden.
Greg Russo wrote the script, with Simon McQuoid directing. We’ve been promised a rated “R” adaptation of the video games that will most definitely feature Fatalities.
The fight will begin on March 5, 2021. Plot details are under wraps at this time.
