As you may recall, an extended “Director’s Cut” version of Andy Muschietti‘s IT had once upon a time been promised, though that seemed to completely disappear off the face of the Earth with Muschietti working on bringing IT: Chapter Two to theaters. Now that the saga is complete, will we soon see that Director’s Cut? And will Chapter Two get one as well?
Speaking with SFX Magazine this week (via Games Radar), Muschietti seemed to make it pretty clear that he’s open to putting together Director’s Cut releases of *both* films.
“The possibilities are open,” Muschietti told the site. “There’s a version where the two movies are cut together. There’s a version where there’s a special director’s cut of number one and a special director’s cut of number two. And I’m happy to basically work on every one of them.”
In regards to the Director’s Cut of Chapter Two, Muschietti said that’s “definitely going to happen.” Producer Barbara Muschietti recently said the same thing about Chapter Two.
Here’s hoping an eventual home video release of both films includes both Director’s Cuts!
