It was announced early this year that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) would be directing the feature film adaptation of the action-adventure video game Uncharted, with Tom Holland set to star as a young Nathan Drake. Holland is still attached to star at this time, but we’ve unfortunately learned today that Trachtenberg is now off the project.
Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is hoping to pick a replacement by the end of this summer, with production on the film set to kick off early next year.
They add that Uncharted will be the first feature production of Sony PlayStation Productions.
“The Uncharted film has a story line that captures the protagonist as a young man, as he grows into the treasure hunter Nathan Drake.”
The adaptation was written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins.
