Surprise, ‘Tigers Are Not Afraid’ Is Coming to Shudder This Week!

After releasing Issa López‘s acclaimed Tigers Are Not Afraid in limited theaters last month, we’ve learned today that Shudder is bringing the film to their streaming service this week!

The film will begin streaming on Shudder this Thursday, September 12. It will be available for all Shudder members to stream in the U.S., Canada, UK and Ireland.

Tigers Are Not Afraid (read our review) is a dark fairy tale about a gang of five children trying to survive the horrific violence of the cartels and the ghosts created every day by the drug war.

Shudder’s official description for the film reads, “A haunting horror fairytale set against the backdrop of Mexico’s devastating drug wars, Tigers Are Not Afraid follows a group of orphaned children armed with three magical wishes, running from the ghosts that haunt them and the cartel that murdered their parents. Filmmaker Issa López creates a world that recalls the early films of Guillermo del Toro, imbued with her own gritty urban spin on magical realism to conjure a wholly unique experience that audiences will not soon forget.”

Both Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro have raved about the film.
