Ahead of Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep coming to theaters on November 8, Warner Bros. will be releasing the brand new 4K restoration of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital on October 1, and we’ve learned today that the classic horror film will also be coming back to theaters for two nights in anticipation of the upcoming sequel!
The Shining will take you back to the Overlook Hotel on September 26 and October 1. Along with the 4K restoration, you’ll also be treated to a sneak peek of Doctor Sleep.

The 4K remastering was done using a new 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative.
The mastering was done at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging, with color grading by Janet Wilson and supervision from Stanley Kubrick’s former personal assistant Leon Vitali.
