‘The Honeymoon Phase’ of a Faked Marriage Goes Horribly Wrong [Exclusive Images]

79th & Broadway Entertainment announced today that they will represent North American rights to The Honeymoon Phase, writer/director Phillip G. Carroll Jr.’s feature debut. With that, Bloody Disgusting nabbed the first three stills from the film that’s described as a “Black Mirror”-esque meets Fatal Attraction sci-fi horror.

In the film, following Tom and Eve who lie about being married so they can enter “The Millennium Project.” Paying $50,000, this 30-day scientific study analyzes couples’ relationships while they reside in futuristic smart homes secluded in the woods. Run by a mysterious researcher and his associate, the experiment leads Eve into a violent descent of madness questioning her lover’s trust and whether he is the man she thinks he is.

The film stars Jim Schubin (“Law & Order: SVU”, “Boardwalk Empire”), Chloe Carroll, François Chau (Birds of Prey, “The Expanse”, “LOST”) and Tara Westwood (The Grudge, Two Sentence Horror Stories).

The Honeymoon Phase is produced by Chloe Carroll, Jess Weiss (Let Me Make You a Martyr) and executive produced by John Carroll (It Happened in Key West) and Andrew van den Houten (The Ranger, Darlin’). Van den Houten is also heading up sales on behalf of 79th & Broadway.

The Honeymoon Phase was a top-five finalist in Shudder and Project Greenlight’s Real Fear Horror Contest and won the Facebook vote for best pitch. The film was further developed at Shudder Labs. You can watch the original pitch video here!
