We lost a Hollywood legend this weekend in Robert Forster, who passed away after a battle with brain cancer. He was 78.
THR, who confirmed the passing, wrote that Forster made for one of Hollywood’s most heartwarming comeback stories in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown, which earned him an Oscar nomination.
Forster also captained a spaceship in Disney’s ambitious sci-fi thriller The Black Hole (1979), which just arrived on Blu-ray this past summer.
He also starred In Alligator (1980), The Kinky Coaches and the Pom-Pom Pussycats (1981), Vigilante (1982), Hollywood Harry (1986) and Satan’s Princess (1989), as well as Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence, Body Chemistry 3: Point of Seduction and Scanner Cop II. He can also be seen in “Tales from the Darkside” and remakes of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window and Psycho.
