We know that both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are set to return to The Matrix in director Lana Wachowski‘s new film for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow, and Deadline is reporting this week that Jada Pinkett Smith is also now in talks to join them.
The actress played Niobe in the second and third Matrix films, and Deadline makes sure to note that while negotiations are underway, a deal has not yet been reached.
“Niobe is from Zion, and the captain of the Logos hovercraft. She’s also one of the rebels in the war against the Machines and the Matrix. In the virtual world of the Matrix, Niobe is a gifted martial artist.”
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris will also star in the new film.
