In the wake of The Witch and this year’s The Lighthouse, Deadline is reporting today that the next film from Robert Eggers will be The Northman, a Viking revenge tale!
Impressively, the list of actors currently in talks for the film includes Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy, Bill Skarsgård and Willem Dafoe.
Yes, *both* Skarsgård brothers and the stars of The Witch and The Lighthouse, plus Nicole freakin’ Kidman. Now that’s one hell of a (potential) lineup. eh?!
Deadline notes, “The pic is described as a Viking revenge saga set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century. Eggers penned the screenplay with Icelandic poet and novelist, Sjón.”
Lars Knudsen (Hereditary, Midsommar) is producing the film, set up at New Regency.
