“I don’t do deleted scenes,” Todd Phillips recently explained to Collider, making it clear to the site that though there are many scenes shot for Joker that were left on the cutting room floor, he doesn’t plan on ever releasing them on home video or anywhere else. And that’s a bummer, because one of those deleted scenes was so “insane” it had to be removed.
While we may never get the chance to actually see it, Phillips at least talked a bit about the excised “bathtub scene” in a chat with the SBIFF Cinema Society (via Insider).
“There were two or three other [on-the-fly scenes] we shot, one that is amazing in a bathtub, but I don’t think we could actually include it in an R-rated movie,” Phillips explained.
“And it’s not because it was pornographic, it was just insane.”
If anyone reading this is planning on interviewing Todd Phillips any time soon, make sure you dig for more info as we’d love to know what exactly happens in that bathtub!
