Announced last month, Brannon Braga (“The Orville”) is set to direct a feature film adaptation of Clive Barker‘s Books of Blood for Hulu, pulled from the six volumes of original Barker stories that were published in the mid-’80s. Braga is also co-writing and executive producing the film, with Seth MacFarlane on board to executive produce alongside him.

Today brings more casting news, as Deadline reports that Andy McQueen (Fahrenheit 451), Freda Foh Shen (Ad Astra) and Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest) have signed on.

“Written by Braga and Adam Simon (Salem) based on a short story by Barker with contributing original material, Books of Blood takes a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.”

Anna Friel (Marcella) will also star alongside Britt Robertson (For the People), Rafi Gavron (A Star Is Born) and Yul Vazquez (Midnight, Texas).

The film is expected to premiere in fall 2020.
