We exclusively broke the news back in September that Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe) was coming on board to produce a reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for Legendary, and Deadline confirms the scoop this week with their report that Alvarez and writing partner Rodo Sayagues have officially inked an overall deal with Legendary Pictures.
The site notes that the duo will create/develop/produce films for Legendary through their Bad Hombre Films banner, including the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie.
Deadline also brings us the brand new scoop today that newcomer Chris Thomas Devlin will be writing the film, described as a reboot of the original classic.
