James Wan made it known over on his Facebook page today that he’s in the “home stretch” of filming new horror movie Malignant, and no, it’s not based on Wan’s comic book Malignant Man. Rather, it’s an original thriller that’s not based on any existing IP, Wan himself recently clarified, and we’ve heard that it’s actually going to be part of the Giallo sub-genre.
While we wait for more information – plot details, at this time, are still under wraps – you can check out a behind the scenes photo that Wan shared through Facebook today.

Malignant will release in theaters on August 14, 2020.
The cast includes Maddie Hasson, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Abel, George Young, Ingrid Bisu, Michole Briana White and Jacqueline McKenzie.
