Back in 2016, STX and director William Brent Bell introduced us to Brahms, a creepy doll at the center of the horror film The Boy. “The Walking Dead” actress Lauren Cohan starred in the film as a nanny tasked with looking after the porcelain doll, and while it initially seemed like a dead young boy’s spirit was living inside of the doll, the truth turned out to be even weirder.
The final act of The Boy revealed that the real Brahms is actually a full-grown man living inside the walls of the house, with a porcelain doll mask covering his burnt face. SAY WHAT?!
That first film pulled in $74 million worldwide, setting the stage for this year’s Brahms: The Boy II. This time around, Katie Holmes stars as a mother who moves into the mansion from the first movie. Naturally, she has a young son. And naturally, her young son quickly makes friends with a certain creepy doll that you probably remember meeting back in 2016.
Now that the big twist is already out in the open, where does this franchise go from there? We’ll find out on February 21, 2020. In the meantime, watch the official trailer below.
