Blumhouse, Sony and Columbia are taking us back to Fantasy Island on February 14, 2020 for a darker take on the classic TV series. How dark, you ask? The PG-13 kind of dark.
The movie has been rated “PG-13” by the MPAA for:
“Violence, terror, drug content, suggestive material and brief strong language.”
With its Valentine’s Day release date, Sony is no doubt looking to cater to the teenage date night crowd with this one, so the rating should come as no big surprise.
In Fantasy Island:
“The Enigmatic Mr. Roarke (played by Michael Peña) makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.”
Lucy Hale (Truth or Dare) also stars with Michael Rooker, Charlotte McKinney, Parisa Fitz-Henley and Austin Stowell.
Truth or Dare’s Jeff Wadlow directed a script written by Wadlow, Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs.
