Oscar Isaac, who starred in Alex Garland’s sci-fi film Ex Machina back in 2015, is – get this – next set to star in an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan‘s unrelated comic series…Ex Machina.
THR reports that the film from Legendary, for obvious reasons, will be titled The Great Machine rather than Ex Machina. Isaac will both star and produce.
THR details, “The comic, which Vaughan made with artist Tony Harris, debuted in 2004, running for 50 issues under DC Comics imprint Wildstorm. It centered on Mitchell Hundred, a former superhero who becomes the mayor of New York City after 9/11. Hundred had the power to talk to mechanical devices but the comic was concerned less about superheroics than issues of government and political leadership.” Issac, naturally, is playing Mitchell Hundred.
Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel (Seberg) are writing the film adaptation.
