It’s being released by the Disney-owned Searchlight Pictures, but that doesn’t mean Scott Cooper‘s horror movie Antlers has been watered down for its theatrical arrival this April.
A new poster for the Guillermo del Toro-produced Antlers was unleashed last night, and the film’s MPAA rating is revealed on the poster – thanks to reader Necro for spotting it.
Antlers has been rated “R” for “Violence including gruesome images and for language.”

Based on the short story “The Quiet Boy” by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero”), Antlers is releasing on April 17. The film is written by Henry Chaisson and Antosca, with revisions by Cooper.
In Antlers, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan also star.
