Lots of indie films are considered “low budget” even when they had millions of dollars to work with, but the upcoming Weird Fiction is the true definition of a low-budget indie.
Made for around $300(!) in total, writer/director Jacob Perrett‘s Weird Fiction was filmed back in 2017-2018 and is now being put out by Wild Eye Releasing this coming spring.
In Weird Fiction:
The Collector’s Halloween special comes only once a year. Don’t miss out on stories that will chill your bones. A group of teens go searching for a missing body, a babysitter is stalked by something malevolent, a porn star finds a mysterious bite on the back of his neck, and two girls uncover something that may very well lead to the end of the world.
The filmmakers call this one a “love letter to ’80s horror,” and that’s something you’ll probably pick up on when watching the trailer. You can check it out down below.
Weird Fiction will release on May 12, 2020.
The film group behind Weird Fiction, Northwestern Pennsylvania-based Fame Cinema, has two other films in the works and coming soon: Spine Chiller and Creature in the Dark.
