Bloody has a first look at the revenge thriller Rose Plays Julie, in which Ann Skelly (Vikings, Death and Nightingales) plays twentysomething Rose, “Who uncovers more than she bargained for when she tracks down her biological parents. Finding her mother reluctant to have anything to do with her is just the beginning for Rose as she uncovers devastating, long-suppressed secrets.”
Also starring are Orla Brady (The Foreigner, Into the Badlands) and Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, Bohemian Rhapsody) from fast-rising writer/director duo Christine Molloy & Joe Lawlor.
Hyde Park International will introduce to worldwide buyers at the EFM in Berlin, reports ScreenDaily who adds that New Wave Films has acquired all UK and Ireland rights on the film and will release in the UK and Ireland in partnership with Eclipse Pictures in May.
The Ireland/UK co-production premiered at BFI London Film Festival premiere last year and is produced by David Collins’ Samson Films (Once, Grabbers) and Molloy and Lawlor’s Desperate Optimists.
