Based on his short film Larry, Jacob Chase‘s Come Play stars Gillian Jacobs (“Love”) and John Gallagher Jr. (Underwater) as parents who must fight to save their son from a monster.
Produced by Amblin Partners, Focus Features will release the film on July 24.
“Come Play stars Azhy Robertson as a lonely young boy who feels different from everyone else. Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet. When a mysterious creature uses the boy’s devices against him to break into our world, his parents must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen.”
You can watch the original short film below, which is incredibly tense, creepy and well made. Whole lot of potential here for the feature expansion to be something special, we’re thinking!
