The Valiant Universe kicks off today with Bloodshot, which stars Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison, a man who is brought back from the dead as a lethal weapon, thanks to Rising Spirit Technologies’ use of nanotechnology.
Two clips have been released, with the first giving us a taste of a scene between Diesel and Guy Pearce, the head of Rising Spirit who uses false memories to manipulate a resurrected Bloodshot into assassinating people. Here, he demonstrates his nanotech to Diesel in the most boring way possible – by cutting his hand. Yawn.
Dave Wilson (Deadpool director Tim Miller’s partner at Blur Studios) is at the helm of the sci-fi actioner, which hopes to do some box office damage before theaters are potentially shut down for the next few weeks/months.
