Writers Share the Script Pages for ‘Zombieland’ Cameo Scenes Featuring Mark Hamill and Sylvester Stallone

Before Bill Murray ultimately came on board and accepted the role, Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese cycled through various different big name stars to potentially play themselves for a cameo sequence in the 2009 horror-comedy. First up was Patrick Swayze, and when that didn’t work out, one of the next names on the list was Mark Hamill.

Wernick and Reese took to Twitter over the weekend to share the script pages from the “Hamill Draft” of Zombieland, noting that the Star Wars legend turned down the offer.

The basic gist of every iteration of the cameo sequence was that the characters arrive at the home of a famous star and mess around with their stuff before they ultimately show up, and the Hamill draft wasn’t much different. While the gang is watching Star Wars on Hamill’s television and listening to the iconic soundtrack, an undead Hamill shows up to the party.

The script describes, “Hamill looms over Columbus. Zombiefied. Horrifying.” Naturally, a lightsaber fight ensues, and you’ll have to read the pages below to find out what happens next.

You can also read the Sylvester Stallone draft over on Rhett Reese’s Twitter account!
