James Gunn Celebrates ‘SLiTHER’s 14th Anniversary With Never-Before-Seen Images

Before James Gunn became one of the biggest faces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was a Troma guy who transitioned into mainstream horror with his stupendous screenplay for the Zack Snyder-directed Dawn of the Dead remake (he’s also uncredited on Thir13en Ghosts). After, he would make his feature directorial debut for Universal Pictures with SLiTHER, a gross-out horror-comedy in which a small town is taken over by an alien plague, turning residents into zombies and all forms of mutant monsters.

Gunn is celebrating the film’s 14th anniversary with a series of never-before-seen photos from behind the scenes of the production, sharing intimate looks at the cast and crew of the practical effects-heavy splatterfest.

There are a handful of new photos, including a hero shot of star Michael Rooker in his disgusting mutated form. Check it.
