Universal Pictures announced last September that two new “original thrillers” from M. Night Shyamalan are on the way, set to arrive on February 26, 2021 and February 17, 2023.
Unfortunately, Universal announced today that due to the coronavirus pandemic halting all productions at the moment, the thriller set for release in 2021 has now been undated.
Deadline notes, “The film was in pre-production, and can’t shoot anytime soon in Shyamalan’s stomping ground of Philadelphia, PA due to the industry’s overall production stoppage.”
Both untitled films will be written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and he teased that they’re both “weird and dark” in a chat with Collider this past December.
