Legendary Entertainment and Nerdist Partner for 3-Film, 3-Week “MonsterVerse Watchalong”

LET THEM FIGHT…from the comfort of your own home.

Three films (so far) make up Legendary’s “MonsterVerse,” and ahead of the arrival of fourth film Godzilla vs. Kong, Legendary is partnering with Nerdist for a fun event beginning this week.

Legendary announced today a Monsterverse Watchalong beginning this Thursday, April 9, allowing fans to relive the trio of films in the Monsterverse – Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Highlighting the plethora of activities surrounding each viewing will be a rare glimpse behind the scenes of each film including easter eggs, trivia and more on Legendary’s and Nerdist’s social channels, and will include a few surprise guests.

The schedule for the Monsterverse Watchalong is as follows:

  • Thursday, April 9th at 5pm PST – Godzilla (2014)
  • Thursday, April 16th at 5pm PST – Kong: Skull Island
  • Thursday, April 23rd at 5pm PST – Godzilla: King of the Monsters

To participate in the Monsterverse Watchalong, fans should hit play at exactly 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET on each Thursday. Legendary will add to the festivities by providing special in-depth content and commentary on its social channels, bringing fans inside the movies like never before.

Each Monsterverse installment is available digitally for easy access across most devices.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
