Roger Corman just celebrated his 94th birthday earlier this month, and his dedication to helping launch careers has never waned over the years. Sticking true to that particular brand, as well as his low-budget, DIY approach to filmmaking, the legendary producer and filmmaker has launched the first (and hopefully only) “Corman Quarantine Film Festival” this week.
What does that mean? The gist is that Corman wants YOU to make a 2-minutes-or-less short film in your home or backyard, starring only the folks you’re currently quarantined inside with. With safety as the top priority, Corman is tasking you with getting creative and experimenting with filmmaking, and the rule is that the short must be filmed on your cellphone.
Corman explains, “Tag me and the #CormanChallenge and I’ll check out your film. You have two weeks.” Winner will receive a social share and a signed certificate as well as an award.

Who knows, maybe YOU could be Roger Corman’s next great discovery…
