With the production currently halted, it was probably inevitable that Matt Reeves‘ The Batman would be flying into a new release date, and indeed the film has now done just that.
Rather than releasing on June 25th, 2021, Warner Bros/DC’s Robert Pattinson-starring The Batman will now arrive in theaters four months later on October 1st, 2021.
Just in time for a Long Halloween, you could say…
Interestingly, the move brings The Batman to theaters almost exactly two years after the release of the hugely successful Joker. That film was released in early October of last year.
Jeffrey Wright is co-starring as Commissioner Gordon with Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Paul Dano is set to play the Riddler, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.
Jayme Lawson and Peter Sarsgaard will also star.
