Universal Pictures announced last September that two new “original thrillers” from M. Night Shyamalan are on the way, with the first originally set for release in February 2021. Alas, coronavirus-related delays will bump that date.
Shyamalan has, however, begun casting on that next movie, and Collider reports today that Alex Wolff (Hereditary) is one of the actors in talks to star.
The site notes, “Sources likened Wolff’s role to the film’s third lead.”
UPDATE: Variety adds that Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre and Vicky Krieps are also in negotiations to star in the film.
Filming will begin on the untitled movie, which Shyamalan has described as being “weird and dark,” whenever it’s safe for productions here in the States to resume.
For now, no plot details are available.
