A new image from Denis Villeneuve‘s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune has been released by Empire this week, and it’s a mid-action shot featuring Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck.

Villeneuve explains the shot, which sees Paul and Gurney flying over the planet Arrakis, “It’s Paul’s first contact with the deep desert, where he’s mesmerized by it. He has a strange feeling of being home. There’s a lot of action at this specific moment, and [it’s] one of the scenes in the movie that I’m starting to get pretty proud of.”

Villeneuve directed Dune from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts.

Warner Bros. and Legendary will release Dune on December 18, 2020.
