Kevin James-Starring Home Invasion Thriller ‘Becky’ is Coming to These Drive-In Theaters This Week
Quiver Distribution and Redbox Entertainment are bringing the home invasion thriller Becky to digital and on-demand on June 5, and we’ve learned it’s also coming to select drive-ins.
“King of Queens” actor/comedian Kevin James plays a villain for the very first time in Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion‘s (Bushwick) thriller, and he’ll be squaring off against an unlikely foe in Annabelle: Creation‘s young star Lulu Wilson. The cast also includes Joel McHale.
Becky has been rated “R” for “Strong bloody violence, grisly images, and language.”
“The film centers on rebellious 14-year-old Becky (Wilson) as she’s brought to a weekend getaway at a lake house by her father in an effort to try to reconnect after her mother’s death. The trip takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (James), suddenly invade the lake house.”
“Becky, not daddy’s little girl anymore, decides to take matters into her own hands.”

Will Becky be the film to dethrone The Wretched at the drive-in box office this weekend? As we’ve been reporting, The Wretched has been at the top of the charts for an entire month.
Nick Morris, Ruckus Skye and Lane Skye wrote the script.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
