It was announced back in May that Universal was prepping a new take on Wolfman, with Ryan Gosling attached to star as the title character/classic Universal Studios monster.
A director was not yet on board at the time, but Deadline updates today that Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man) is now in negotiations to direct Gosling in the film!
Deadline notes, “Whannell will also be writing the treatment for the film, based on an original idea of his own and inspired by the 1941 classic.”
Additionally, Blumhouse (The Invisible Man) has boarded the project.
Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo (“Orange is the New Black”) are writing the script.
