Darkseid Rises in First Official Trailer for the “Snyder Cut” of ‘Justice League’

Published

Announced earlier this year, Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. are currently hard at work on the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, with tens of millions of dollars being dedicated to allowing Snyder to reconstruct the 2017 movie into his original vision. The “Snyder Cut” is said to be quite a bit different and a whole lot darker, with Darkseid notably featured in the movie.

Ray Porter plays the super-villain in scenes from the film that never ended up in the theatrical cut, and he’s front and center at the start of the teaser trailer that debuted out of DC’s FanDome event today. Set to the late Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” the trailer is home to footage both familiar and brand new; Superman in his black suit, for starters.

Check out your first real good look at the famed “Snyder Cut” below, which will initially be released in four hour-long parts before being collected together as one 4-hour film.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The “Snyder Cut” is coming to HBO Max in 2021.

Sleepy Hollow movie

Paramount is heading to Sleepy Hollow with a brand new feature film take on the classic Headless Horseman tale, with Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) announced to direct the movie back in 2022. But is that project still happening, now two years later?

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know this afternoon that Paramount Pictures has renewed its first-look deal with Lindsey Anderson Beer, and one of the projects on the upcoming slate is the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow movie that was originally announced two years ago.

THR details, “Additional projects on the development slate include… Sleepy Hollow with Anderson Beer attached to write, direct, and produce alongside Todd Garner of Broken Road.”

You can learn more about the slate over on The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes a supernatural thriller titled Here Comes the Dark from the writers of Don’t Worry Darling.

The origin of all things Sleepy Hollow is of course Washington Irving’s story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” which was first published in 1819. Tim Burton adapted the tale for the big screen in 1999, that film starring Johnny Depp as main character Ichabod Crane.

More recently, the FOX series “Sleepy Hollow” was also based on Washington Irving’s tale of Crane and the Headless Horseman. The series lasted four seasons, cancelled in 2017.
