While we continue waiting for the new season of “Stranger Things,” we’ve learned today that star Maya Hawke has been cast in a new Netflix movie described as “Hitchcockian.”

Deadline reports that Hawke will star alongside Camila Mendes (“Riverdale”) in Strangers, a film co-written and being directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great).

The film “is described as a subverted Hitchock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls. It follows Drew (Alpha, it girl) and Eleanor (Beta, alt girl) who, after a clandestine meet-cute, team up to go after each other’s bullies.”

No idea how much of a genre movie this one will be, but we’ll be keeping our eyes on it.

Robinson and Celeste Ballard wrote the script.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
