A24 has cemented itself as the home of arthouse horror and continues to work tirelessly at acquiring fresh films that are completely off everyone’s radar. Next up is a high profile ghost story shot in secret in Wales during lockdown.

The Eternal Daughter re-teams Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton with director Joanna Hogg after they recently collaborated on lauded Sundance movie The Souvenir and the upcoming The Souvenir Part 2, which will debut later this year, reports Deadline.

“The mystery-drama, currently in post-production, will chart the story of a middle-aged daughter and her elderly mother who must confront long-buried secrets when they return to their former family home, a once-grand manor that has become a nearly vacant hotel brimming with mystery.”

The cast also includes Joseph Mydell, Carly Davies and Alfie Sankey-Green.

Martin Scorsese serves as executive producer.

Swinton is a chameleon of an actor who has celebrated the horror genre, having starred in Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake, Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive, and even Constantine alongside Keanu Reeves.

This weekend, A24 blesses us with the release of Saunt Maud. Former releases include The Witch, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, The Lighthouse, Midsommar and Hereditary.
