Bigfoot Battles a Pack of Wendigos in Upcoming Creature Feature ‘Dawn of the Beast’ [Trailer]
You can make a Bigfoot movie or a Wendigo movie, or you can just go ahead and throw both creatures into the same movie. That’s precisely what Bruce Wemple (Monstrous) has done for his latest, a creature feature mashup movie that’s titled Dawn of the Beast.
And yes, of course the two beasts eventually end up fighting each other.
Uncork’d Entertainment will be bringing Dawn of the Beast to DVD and Digital on April 6, we’ve learned this morning, and we’ve also got the official trailer and poster art for ya today.
“Aiming to see Bigfoot, a group of students venture deep into an area of the Northeastern wilderness known for its strange creature sightings. Soon, they learn that there is a much more sinister evil lurking in the woods, the Wendigo, and once the spirit knows you’re there, they will come for you. Who will survive in a battle between the two most notorious monsters of the forest?”
Adrian Burke, Ariella Mastroianni, Grant Schumacher and Anna Shields star.
Keith C. Blackmore’s book series Mountain Man is headed to the screen, with Deadline reporting today that Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”) is on board to star in the film adaptation.
The actor will also produce the upcoming zombie movie.
“Mountain Man tells the story of Gus, a lonely post-apocalyptic survivor facing isolation and the ever-present specter of a zombie attack, who struggles with alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts until he discovers another survivor, a captivating woman who poses another threat altogether.”
John Lee (False Positive) will direct Mountain Man from a script by Matt Deller.
“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”
Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.
Blackmore’s Mountain Man series features 7 books, the first one published in 2011.
