Olivia Luccardi (“Channel Zero,” pictured above),Eden Brolin, Sam Quartin, Owen Campbell and Billy Baldwin have joined the cast of horror movie Candy Land, Variety reports today.
Described as a “gritty horror-thriller,” the movie from Roxwell Films is written and directed by John Swab. And no, it’s not an adaptation of the board game with the same name.
“The film follows a young disciple of a religious cult, Remy (Luccardi), who stumbles upon a rag-tag group of truck stop sex workers known as “lot lizards” who take her under their wing. As Remy immerses herself in this new underground world, her true colors are revealed in a way that neither her former family nor new family could have ever imagined.”
“Candy Land ratchets up our usual gritty fare and delves into the mysterious underworld of lot lizards – a ripe and unique setting for a visceral horror-thriller with a terrific ensemble cast, composed largely of friends and repeat collaborators,” says producer Jeremy M. Rosen.
Guinevere Turner, Virginia Rand and Brad Carter also star.
