Hannah John-Kamen, who will soon be seen as Jill Valentine in the live-action movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, has signed on to play the new version of Red Sonja!

“Hannah is a very talented actress who we’ve been following for years and she IS Red Sonja,” Soloway tells THR. “Her range, sensibilities and strength are all qualities we have been looking for and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this journey together.”

Hannah John-Kamen was recently seen in Tomb Raider, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Ready Player One, as well as the TV shows “Killjoys,” “The Stranger” and “Brave New World.”

The new movie was written by Soloway and Tasha Huo.
