Undead Horror-Comedy ‘Dementia Part II’ Brings Gross-Out Mayhem to VOD and DVD Today! [Bloody Disgusting x Dark Star Pictures]
With Honeydew now on all VOD platforms, the next Bloody Disgusting x Dark Star Pictures collaboration has gone full-blown weird and is guaranteed to deliver gross-out mayhem. We’re excited to bring you Dementia Part II, which is now available on all VOD platforms, Digital HD and DVD.
Taken from the pages of Sam Raimi, and delivering absurd gross-out humor and nonstop mayhem, the making of Dementia Part II came out of a dare from Chicago’s Cinepocalype Film Festival and the movie’s producers JD Lifshitz and Raphael Margules. The two must produce a feature-length midnight movie from concept to finished product in one month so that it could make its World Premiere on the last night of the film festival! The film turned out to be Dementia Part II, a tongue-in-cheek sequel to Mike Testin’s 2015 original film.
In Dementia Part II, “Suzanne wasn’t always this confused. She wasn’t always dead either – when an ex-con takes a job as a handyman for an unstable elderly woman to avoid a parole violation, it becomes a choice he may regret.”
The film stars genre favorites Matt Mercer (Contracted, Bliss, Beyond the Gates), Graham Skipper (Almost Human, Sequence Break, VFW) and Najarra Townsend (Contracted, The Stylist), with Suzanne Voss (The Lords of Salem).
It was produced from conception to its world premiere screening by the writer/director team Matt Mercer and Mike Testin (The Salesman, Dementia) in just 30 days!
“We aimed for off-kilter midnight horror-comedy territory and put the pedal to the metal,” said Testin. “The goal was not to fly in the face of the first film, but instead to create something entirely of its own identity, and make a fun, gooey, bizarre ride in the process.”

Sunrise Films has announced the official North American release of William Bagley‘s horror comedy Hold the Fort, and it’s accompanied by an energetic new trailer.
Hold the Fort debuts on digital platforms on June 23.
In the film, “Lucas and Jenny think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of home-ownership and wraps this up in an entertaining action-packed thrill ride.“

Chris Mayers (Adult Swim Yule Log), Haley Leary (“The Walking Dead”), Levi Burdick, and Julian Smith star.
William Bagley writes and directs, in addition to producing with Smith, Matt Dodd, Luke Williams, and Tim Reis (Adult Swim Yule Log).
Ahead of the release, Bagley said, “My goal with this film was to make a hilarious, fast-paced thrill ride while also telling a great story with heart. Hopefully, through all the blood, laughs, fights, and gags, you leave the film feeling inspired to tackle whatever life throws at you.“
Hold the Fort premiered at Fantasia last summer before going on to play FrightFest London, Toronto After Dark, and Beyond Fest.
I wrote in my review, “It’s an infectiously charming assemblage of jokes and monster vignettes bound together by a barebones plot with not much on its mind beyond delivering an entertaining time.”
