As we learned last year, Paramount is bringing the Transformers back to life with a live-action Transformers: Beast Wars movie, and today the official title has been revealed.
Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II) is directing Transformers: Rise of the Beasts for Paramount!
Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback will star in the movie, set in 1994. We’ve also learned that the central character in Rise of the Beasts will be Optimus Prime G1.
“There are Deceptions in this movie but Terrorcons are the leading villains,” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura teased during an event today. Thanks to @TheEricGoldman for the quote.
Here’s the synopsis. “Returning to the action and spectacle that first captured moviegoers around the world 14 years ago with the original Transformers, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.”
The film arrives in theatres June 24, 2022.
