Hasbro Reveals ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Action Figures and the Return of Bill Murray’s Dr. Peter Venkman! [Photos]

The new trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife was released this morning, teasing us with the return of Dan Aykroyd‘s “Ray Stantz”.

It’s no secret that all four Ghostbusters are set to return, but the trailer is keeping that secret…for now.

Hasbro isn’t playing by the same rules and has already revealed action figures for all returning Ghostbusters, including our first look at Bill Murray as “Dr. Peter Venkman”, grey hair and all!

The “Plasma” Series also includes action figures for the aforementioned Ray Stanz and Ernie Hudson‘s “Winston Zeddemore”.

From what we know as of this writing, Harold Ramis only appears as “Egon Spengler” in YouTube footage of the infamous Ghostbusters television commercial from 1984.

We also have a first look at “Lucky” (Celeste O’Connor), “Trevor” (Finn Wolfhard), “Podcast” (Logan Jim), and “Phoebe” (Mckenna Grace) action figures, all donning their very own Ghostbusters uniforms. Oh, and here’s the kicker, each figure comes with a “build-a-ghost” piece that assembles “Sentinel Terror Dog”, which looks like a ghost version of the Terror Dogs from the first film!

It sounds as if these will be arriving in time for Halloween, ahead of the November release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Digressing, there’s even more that was revealed. Here’s a full breakdown, with images below:

  • The Plasma Series Afterlife Figures
  • The Fright Features line of products
  • Clue: Ghostbusters Edition
  • The Ghostbusters Mini-Puft Popper
  • The RC RTV Ghost Trap (of course!)

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
