‘The Batman’: The Penguin May Be Getting His Own Spinoff Series at HBO Max
From director Matt Reeves, The Batman is currently set to release in theaters on March 4, 2022, and various spinoff projects are already in the works. In addition to the previously announced spinoff series set in Gotham City, Variety reports tonight that HBO Max is also developing a spinoff series centered on Penguin, being played by Colin Farrell in The Batman.
Farrell hasn’t yet signed on, but he has reportedly been approached to star.

“The show would supposedly delve into The Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld.”
Lauren LeFranc is on board the writing team, Variety also notes.
Matt Reeves would executive produce the planned solo series.
