‘The Cursed’ Trailer – Horror Movie Brings a Werewolf and Scary Scarecrow to Theaters in February
After playing in theaters ahead of Scream, the trailer for LD Entertainment’s The Cursed has made its way online today, promising “one of the best horror films of the year.”
The gothic thriller will be released on February 18, 2022 wide in theaters. The film is said to be a “reimagining of the werewolf legend for a modern-day audience.”
In The Cursed, written and directed by Sean Ellis…
“In the late 1800s, a man arrives in a remote country village to investigate an attack by a wild animal but discovers a much deeper and sinister force that has the manor and its townspeople in its grip.”
Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly, and Alistair Petrie star.
Formerly titled Eight for Silver, the film premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
Filmmaker Sean Ellis commented, “Sundance is always an incredible place to showcase your work. In the time that has followed that valuable experience, we took the opportunity to invigorate the film with an updated score by Lorne Balfe; we changed much of the CGI and decided to put back much of the original in-camera effects. We also elevated elements of the story that pay tribute to the incredible multitude of layers that live within the horror genre.”
LD’s Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon said, “We set out to make a genre film with an incredibly talented filmmaker. Sean Ellis has created a story that is so much more than that: it’s timely, scary as hell, and most importantly unique. We are thrilled for people to finally see Sean’s striking vision on the big screen.”

‘Brine’ – Jennifer Holland Starring in Supernatural Civil War Thriller
Jennifer Holland (“Peacemaker”) and Dave Annable (“Lioness”) will lead the cast of upcoming supernatural Civil War thriller Brine, Deadline reports this afternoon.
B.J. Golnick (“Hunting Hitler”) will be directing Brine.
Brine follows a family of Confederate deserters who escape the Union bombardment of Fort Pulaski with a cache of stolen gold and disappear into the Georgia marshlands.
When they take refuge in a remote plantation house, what first appears to be salvation slowly reveals itself as part of something ancient, predatory and impossible to escape.
Jonah Wharton (Lioness), Sissy Sheridan (Chicken Girls), and Grayson Lay (Outer Banks) also star. The screenplay was written by B.J. Golnick and Jeremy Miller.
“Brine is a story about survival, but it is also a story about inheritance…The violence we pass down, the myths we create to justify it, and the cost of trying to break free,” Golnick previews.
“We intend for the film to feel intimate, historically grounded and deeply unnerving, as if the supernatural elements weren’t invented, but unearthed from the marsh itself.”
