‘Skyline Radial’ Detailed, Liam O’Donnell Returning to Direct!

While I’m not much of a fan of the sci-fi indie Skyline, I quite like Beyond Skyline, which gives tribute to classic sci-fi horror like Aliens and Predator. Even Skylines, the third film in the franchise, is an extremely good time.

A fourth film is in the cards, teased Liam O’Donnell, writer of the first film and director of the two sequels. The filmmaker took to socials last year to reveal that he’s getting behind the camera for Skyline Radial, which he said will be a “father/daughter reunion”.

In Beyond Skyline, Frank Grillo starred as a tough-as-nails detective who embarks on a relentless pursuit to free his son from a nightmarish alien warship.

In last year’s third installment, “When a virus threatens to turn the now earth-dwelling friendly alien hybrids against humans, Captain Rose Corley must lead a team of elite mercenaries on a mission to the alien world in order to save what’s left of humanity.”

In first plot details shared with Bloody Disgusting, Radial centers on the franchise’s main character Rose Corley (Lindsey Morgan). When she and her crew embark on a daring mission to rescue her father, Mark, from a secret prison, they are confronted with the ultimate power of the universe: an ancient alien race known only as The Radial.

Screen Media has picked up international sales rights to the sci-fi actioneer and will have its Foresight Unlimited division, headed up by Mark Damon, shop the project to buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

The latest film is currently casting, with key cast expected to return. Production is slated to start this year.

Deadline first reported the news.
