Anya Taylor-Joy Finds Herself on ‘The Menu’ in Trailer for Searchlight’s Culinary Horror Movie
Anya Taylor-Joy stars alongside Ralph Fiennes and Nicholas Hoult in The Menu, a film from director Mark Mylod (“Succession”) that has been described as being darkly comedic.
Searchlight Pictures will release The Menu in theaters on November 18, 2022, and today brings a brand new official trailer that gives us a better idea what to expect from this one.
For starters, there’s a dark secret simmering beneath the surface of this painstakingly prepared dinner party. And the guests may soon be finding themselves on The Menu…

The film, penned by Will Tracy and Seth Reiss, “is a darkly comedic psychological thriller set in the world of eccentric culinary culture, centering on a young couple who visit an exclusive restaurant on a remote island where an acclaimed chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu. Taylor-Joy will play one half of the couple. Fiennes is playing the chef.”
The cast also includes Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, Reed Birney, Paul Adelstein, Aimee Carrero, Arturo Castro, Mark St. Cyr, Rob Yang, and John Leguizamo.
Adam McKay (The Big Short) is producing The Menu for Searchlight.
The Menu had originally been set to star Emma Stone and Ralph Fiennes, with Alexander Payne attached to direct, but both Stone and Payne ultimately left due to scheduling conflicts.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
