‘Smile’ Opens Wide on Digital Tomorrow; Join Us for a Twitter Watch Party With Writer and Director Parker Finn and Star Kyle Gallner!

Parker Finn‘s Smile just passed $200 million at the worldwide box office, and up next the film is headed home to Paramount+ and Digital on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

To celebrate Smile arriving to Digital & Paramount+, Bloody Disgusting will be hosting a Twitter watch party starting at 6 PM PST /9 PM EST tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 15 featuring Writer and Director Parker Finn and star Kyle Gallner. Press play and watch along with @BDisgusting!

In the film, “After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain.”

“As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.”

Smile also stars Jesse T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, Robert Weigert, Caitlin Stasey, with Kal Penn and Rob Morgan.

Meagan wrote in her Smile review for BD, “There’s a familiarity to the curse’s nature and formula, drawing easy comparisons to several beloved horror films. Even still, it’s well crafted and introduces a fresh feeling mythology, with some genuine scares along the way. Smile makes for a solid enough crowd pleaser heading into the Halloween season.”

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
