‘Santastein’ Trailer Brings Santa Back from the Dead as a Bloodthirsty Christmas Killer
Coming soon from Imaginex Movies is the holiday horror movie Santastein, which doesn’t yet have a release date. The trailer, however, has come down the chimney in time for Christmas.
Santastein, which was funded on Kickstarter back in 2020, has been described by the filmmakers as a Christmas slasher comedy, inspired by films including Evil Dead 2 and Scream.

In the film from Benjamin Edelman and Manuel Camilion, “Max Causey was only six years old when he accidentally burned Santa to a crisp on Christmas Eve. 12 years later, Max attempts to raise Santa from the dead in order to fix his past mistakes and restore the Christmas spirit.
“But he soon realizes that the creature he has created is a bloodthirsty killer – and it’s headed straight for his friend’s Christmas party!”
Michael Vitovich, Jared Korotkin, Ophelia Rivera, Kaylie Heyner, and Damian Edwards star in Santastein, which will likely be released sometime next year. Stay tuned for more.
Keith C. Blackmore’s book series Mountain Man is headed to the screen, with Deadline reporting today that Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”) is on board to star in the film adaptation.
The actor will also produce the upcoming zombie movie.
“Mountain Man tells the story of Gus, a lonely post-apocalyptic survivor facing isolation and the ever-present specter of a zombie attack, who struggles with alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts until he discovers another survivor, a captivating woman who poses another threat altogether.”
John Lee (False Positive) will direct Mountain Man from a script by Matt Deller.
“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”
Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.
Blackmore’s Mountain Man series features 7 books, the first one published in 2011.
