Josh Stolberg (the writer of Piranha 3D, Sorority Row, and Saw X) is directing horror movie Red Wedding, and Deadline reports that Lauren LaVera (Terrifier 2 & 3) will star.

Lauren LaVera will star alongside Rory Culkin (Scream 4) in Red Wedding.

“The film follows a teenager and her stepmother who are kidnapped and taken to a remote location as part of a ransom plot, soon discovering their captors are the least of their worries when a deadly bride and groom arrive and begin picking them off one by one.”

The Gulfstream Pictures film has entered production in Alabama, Deadline notes.

Josh Stolberg directs and wrote the screenplay with Pete Goldfinger.

Red Wedding is exactly the kind of bold, high-concept genre film we love to champion — smart, unpredictable, and unapologetically intense,” said Gulfstream Pictures. “Following our long relationship with Josh Stolberg as a writer, we’re excited to now work with him as a director. Along with the incredible pairing of Lauren LaVera and Rory Culkin, we’re thrilled to bring a fresh, elevated take on horror to audiences. It’s a wild ride with real character stakes.”

Lauren LaVera will also be starring in the upcoming survival thriller Man or Bear, and she’s expected to reprise the role of Sienna Shaw one more time in Damien Leone’s Terrifier 4.
