The Toxic Avenger is coming back to life with a brand new movie from Legendary Entertainment, with Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore, Green Room) directing the remake of the Troma classic. Blair’s take on The Toxic Avenger has been rated “R” for violence and gore, and it’s aiming to please hardcore fans of the wacky Troma franchise.

On that note, the film’s sound editor Casey Genton teases one particular standout scene in a new chat with Slash Film, which is being referred to as… well… the “butt guts” scene.

Genton previews, “It’s a really funny movie. Macon Blair, the director, I think did a really good job with it. When they have tested it, fans of the film have been over the moon. It’s pretty out there. I think it’s a different crack. They’re giving the fans what they want, for sure.”

“There’s no lack of — I know everybody references the little kid’s head getting run over and stuff [from the original movie]. I think that there was an iteration of the film that didn’t have enough of that, so they made a very — I don’t want to ruin it,” Genton teases. “But it has, it’s been nicknamed the ‘butt guts’ scene, and it’s probably the best way to match that ‘head getting run over’ energy that everybody’s looking for. So it’s in line with the fan base, and I think it’s hilarious.”

Butt guts… consider us intrigued…

Elijah Wood, Julia Davis, Taylour Paige, Kevin Bacon, Peter Dinklage, and Jacob Tremblay lead the cast of Macon Blair’s The Toxic Avenger, being called a “contemporary reimagining.”
