‘The Dive’ Trailer – Underwater Horror Movie Looks Like ’47 Meters Down’ Minus the Sharks
Billed as a “deep sea thriller,” RLJE Films is heading underwater with The Dive, which is coming to movie theaters and On Demand platforms on Friday, August 25, 2023.

“The movie stars Louisa Krause (“Billions”) and Sophie Lowe (“Medieval”) as sisters Drew and May. After a massive landslide sends rocks tumbling into the sea, May is struck by a rock and now lies deep below the surface, trapped by debris and unable to move. That means Drew must put her own life in jeopardy to save her sister before time runs out.”
Max Erlenwein directed The Dive, which he wrote with Joachim Hedén (Breaking Surface). The Dive looks to be a new take on the horrors explored in 2020’s Breaking Surface.
“‘The Dive’ is a suspenseful and thrilling descent into the great unknown that we cannot wait to share with audiences this summer,” says RLJE Films Chief Acquisitions Officer Mark Ward. “We’re excited to partner with Protagonist, augenschein and the outstanding film team on this deep-sea adventure turned living nightmare.”
“‘The Dive’ takes audiences on an immersive journey of survival where the human body and mind are pushed to the limit, filled with breathtaking action and from the perspective of two female leads with rich character arcs,” said Maximilian Leo at augenschein Film produktion.
In the wake of last year’s World Premiere at FrightFest 2023, single take thriller Failure! has been acquired for North American distribution by Red Water Entertainment, Variety reports.
“The film will be released in the first quarter of 2025,” the report notes.

Shot in one unbroken 87-minute take, Failure! follows James (Raimi – Skinner, The Quarry, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Creepshow) who has a big debt with the bank and is given one hour to choose between financial ruin or murder in order to protect his family. As the hour progresses he finds his home and phone invaded by multiple characters pulling him in different directions, gradually adding to his distress and his unravelling. But who is real and who isn’t?
The film also stars Merrick McCartha (Senior Year), Melissa Diaz (Ruthless), John Paul Medrano (Seven Days) and Daniel Kuhlman (Voodoo MacBeth) and Noel Douglas Orput.
Kahuam and Raimi produced Failure! along with Marco De Molina, Kayli Fortun and Jose D. Rodriguez via Kahuam’s Promotora NAE and De Molina’s Spacebrain Entertainment.
